Masha Rumer is a Bay Area-based author, parent, and immigrant. Her new book, Parenting with an Accent (Beacon Press, 2021) is an affirming, conversational, and candid exploration of the contemporary immigrant and multicultural family experience in America.

About the event
The book features her own stories, research, and interviews with over 60 immigrants and experts in bilingualism, psychology, and more, representing speakers of almost 20 different languages. Masha is a refugee from the former Soviet Union. As someone with family from Ukraine and from Russia, she summarily condemns Russia's unprovoked and brutal invasion of Ukraine and has been volunteering, donating and helping organizations raise funds to support Ukraine.
